The Psychology of School Shooters
Friday, October 22, 2021
3 General Hours
Parents are worried more than ever about the safety of sending their children to school because of the epidemic of community and school shootings post pandemic. What makes some students 'snap' like a ticking time bomb with horrendous acts of violence? Do you know the underlying psychological patterns that could identify how to intervene? This intensive workshop will equip you with new skills working through a comprehensive guide on how to manage a community shooting for students, teachers and metal health professionals to stabilize after the crisis.
This workshop will explore the basics of domestic abuse and what we can do to help in the therapeutic and church settings. We will also learn what we might do that hinders healing. Some of the topics and objectives to be addressed are:
- Evaluate the underlying psychological patterns of shooters from a comprehensive analysis of every major school shooting over the last 50 years.
- Implement tested crisis management counseling strategies to use during and after a school shooting for rapid psychological stabilization of survivors.
- Intervene with potentially dangerous situations in a way that protects the safety of practitioners in keeping their school, or their children’s school safe.
