Kathie Erwin, ED.D., LMHC, NCC, NCGC

Dr. Kathie Erwin is a Professor at Divine Mercy University School of Counseling. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, National Certified Gerontological Counseling and AMHCA Diplomate in Geriatric Counseling. Dr. Erwin was appointed Fulbright Specialist teaching at University of Iceland. She has served as Secretary/Board Member and is President Elect for Florida Mental Health Counselors Association. She is also a Board Member of Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. A Master Field Traumatologist, Dr Erwin has served as team leader in Trinidad, India, and Romania. She taught trauma counseling for Ukraine Project including distance support for Ukrainian counselors impacted by the war.


Description

Discover how broken bowls, rocks, sand, emojis and characters can help clients connect with and restore the shattered self. Examples of these approaches are shown with suggestions for integration within a variety of theoretical orientations.

Learning Objectives

Objective 1 Identify connections between theoretical constructs for Trauma Counseling and Interactive approaches.

Objective 2 Demonstrate use of interactive techniques in Trauma Counseling.

Objective 3 Evaluate options to incorporate interactive techniques within the treatment plan.
